HOTSPOTS@NIE

IMPORTANT: We are currently revamping Hotspots@NIE and therefore, this service is NOT available until further notice.

National Institute of Education (NIE) provides free wireless connection for her guests and visitors. This free service is referred as HOTSPOTS@NIE and it supports the well known IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards for wireless. To access HOTSPOTS@NIE, the users have to associate to the wireless network within the coverage areas. The coverage areas are

• Lecture Theaters (from LT1 to LT12);
• Block 1 Conference Room;
• Student Hub (UiD);
• NIE Plaza;
• Library; and
• Canteen.

To access HOTSPOTS@NIE, users need to have a WiFi enabled device (such as notebook or mobile phone), a web browser and a registered account. To register an account, you may contact our Service Desk (see below).

All invited guests / visitors, staff and students of Singapore’s Education Institutions / Schools are allowed to have access to HOTSPOTS@NIE, except the following groups:

• Staff and Trainee Teachers of NIE
• Staff and Students of NTU (Nanyang Technological University)

Note: Staff and Students of NTU can use their NTU account to access NIE’s campus wireless network, WIRELESS@NIE.
